Winter Session of Parliament to begin
The Winter Session of the parliament is set to take place from today. The indictment of Gautam Adani and seven others by a US court in a bribery and fraud case is set to create a stormy scenario in both Houses.
The announcement of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly poll results and the outcome of nine assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday will also have a bearing on the initial functioning of the month-long session. Meanwhile,
the Centre is set to introduce 15 bills in the upcoming winter session. The session will conclude on December 20.
Day 2 of IPL 2025 auction
The second day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction will take place today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This is a be a two-day auction that taking place at the prestigious Abady Al-Johar Arena, reported the Times of India.
A total of
577 players are featured in the auction, narrowed down from 1,574 registrations. Among them, 366 are Indian players and 208 are overseas cricketers, including three from associate nations, According to TOI.
The auction began at 12.30 pm local time (3.30 pm IST) on Sunday (November 24) and continued into Monday, promising intense bidding wars.

PM Modi set to launch ‘United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the ‘United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025’ at the International Cooperative Alliance’s (ICA) global conference to be held in the national capital.
First time in the 130-year-long history of the ICA, the premier body for the global cooperative movement, with the initiative of IFFCO, the ICA General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference will be hosted by India. The event is scheduled to be held from November 25 to November 30 in Delhi, reported news agency PTI.
Around 3,000 delegates are expected to attend this event and out of that 1,000 will be delegates from foreign countries.
Sri Lankan Parliament to hold an induction session for new MPs
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will hold an induction session of
new Prime Minister and 150 new Members of the Parliament (MPs) today, reported Indian Express.
On November 21, Dissanayake addressed the inaugural session of the newly convened parliament. The ruling National People’s Power (NPP), led by Dissanayake, secured a landslide victory in the parliamentary elections held on November 13, winning 159 seats – well above the 150 needed for a two-thirds majority.
