The highly-anticipated India tour of Australia 2024-25 kicks off today, with stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah leading the Indian team at Optus Stadium in Perth against Pat Cummins’ Australia.
This is the first time when India is playing a five-match Test series in Australia after the series was Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The live toss for India vs Australia will take place at 7.20 am IST, while the 1st test will begin at 7.50 am IST in Perth.
The live streaming will be available on the Disney Plus Hotstar app and website in India, while its live telecast will be available on Star Sports Network.
WHO Emergency Committee meeting on Mpox
The World Health Organization will convene a meeting of its Emergency Committee to determine whether mpox remains a global health crisis.
In August, the disease which continues to spread in Africa was classified by the UN health body as a public health emergency of international concern, which represents the highest form of alert.
This followed the spread of a new variant of the virus, called clade Ib, in parts of the continent.
Bail hearing for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
The third bail hearing of rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is scheduled for Friday in sex trafficking case.
In a big win for the rapper, a federal judge during the last hearing had said he would not consider evidence obtained during a sweep of the rapper’s jail cell at his upcoming hearing.
Judge Arun Subramanian also ruled that the prosecution will need to destroy its copies of the 19 pages of notes obtained after the sweep.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Belarus
Russian FM Sergei Lavrov is visiting Brest to attend a joint meeting of the foreign ministry boards of Belarus and Russia.
These meetings have been held annually since 2000. They are an effective mechanism for synchronizing the efforts of the two countries in the international arena, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova had earlier said in a press briefing on November 13.
President Murmu to inaugurate ‘Lokmanthan-2024’
President Droupadi Murmu is in Telangana for a two-day visit.
Today, she will deliver an inaugural address at the Lokmanthan 2024, an international conference and cultural festival, in Hyderabad.
The main programme will be held at Shilpa Kala Vedika.
